Former President John Dramani Mahama has backed Sulley Muntari’s stance against racism.
The former Black Star midfielder has received a one-match ban for walking off the pitch in a Seria A Game against Cagliari after he complained of racial abuse by a couple of fans in the stands.
Muntari was rather booked by the referee for dissent when he confronted the fans and asked the referee to stop the game just before walking off the pitch.
“I stand with Muntari” Mr Mahama tweeted in solidarity with the Pescara defender.
Meanwhile, other footballers like Las Palmas midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng, former Italian captain Del Piero and former Tottenham player Garth Crooks have all supported Muntari’s action and are rallying against racism.
