Former Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari walked off the pitch in Sunday’s Serie A game following a booking he received after he had complained of racial abuse.
The Pescara player after reporting his abuse was rather booked by referee Minelli at Cagliari for dissent forcing the former AC Milan player to walk off the pitch in anger.
Speaking after the game, Muntari said: “The referee should not just stay on the field and blow the whistle, he must do everything. He should be aware of these things and set an example. I asked him if had heard the insults. I insisted that he must have the courage to stop the game.”
Pescara lost 0-1 to Cagliari. They are bottom of Serie A and have been relegated to Italy’s second tier.
