The Tema Regional Police Command has appealed to workers of the various hospitals and health centres in the Tema area to report anybody who shows up for treatment for gun wounds after the Police engaged in a shoot-out with some suspected robbers.
This follows the escape of two suspected robbers with gunshot wounds. One robber has been arrested after police discovered their training hideout at the Community 3 Ramsar Site.
Briefing the media on Sunday, ASP Julinana Obeng, Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, indicated that the discovery came after five armed men attacked a Chinese factory at the Tema Industrial Area and made away with some valuables. She added that upon a tip-off, police patrol teams were dispatched to the hideout of the suspected criminals.
“We were able to retrieve 72 cartridges and some empty plastic bottles used for their rehearsals at their private shooting range. If you live in an area and you see somebody who comes with gunshot wounds, if you are working at the hospital and you have someone come with gunshot wounds, please report to the Tema regional Police command,” ASP Obeng said.
