Two Ghanaian students, Alex Opoku Manu and Benjamin Eyram Nana Kwame Degbey of the St James Seminary, Sunyani, has been adjudged the Overall Best Students in West Africa.
The students came tops in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
The Ghanaian students who topped the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) awards, will be presented with their prizes at the opening Ceremony of the 71 Annual Council which be held in Banjul, Gambia on Tuesday, 14th March, 2023.
The Council will make all the necessary travel arrangements in connection with the awardee’s trip to Banjul.
The International Excellence Awards are presented to the three overall best candidates from the
member countries that subscribe to the WASSCE, namely The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and
Sierra Leone.
In 2021, Ghana swept all the three topmost prizes at the WAEC Excellence Awards, with all the three awardees being former students of the Wesley Girls’ High School, Cape Coast.
