Swedru-based artiste, Patapaa, at the weekend led a three-hour clean-up exercise in Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
Joined by other artistes and celebrities including Article Wan, Young Cash, MC Fergurson and Pa2Pa Sojas(fans of Patapaa), they cleaned gutters and other filthy areas.
The Agona West Municipal Assembly, Environmental and Health Officers and other officials also participated in the exercise.
The clean-up exercise was in support of the National Sanitation Day and also to maintain a healthy environment.
Patapaa in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said a clean community translates into a healthy people and a healthy nation and called on stakeholders to take part in community activities.
Mr Frank Freebody Mensah, the Manager of Patapaa said the clean-up exercise also formed part of activities of the Agona to the World Concert.
Agona to the World Concert is a music talent hunt programme initiated by Patapaa to unearth musical talents in Agona Swedru.
He said the programme would be organised on the first Saturday of every month after the clean-up exercise.
He noted it was important for the public to see clean-up exercise as a civic responsibility and avoid throwing rubbish in drains.
