Newly appointed Great Olympics head coach Tom Strand has declared his side will not be relegated at the end of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season.
The Accra-based have been a pale shadow of the side that qualified as Zone 1 winners during the 2015/16 GN Bank Division One League.
Strand’s first game as coach with Olympics was a deserving goalless draw against Liberty Professionals in match week 12. Speaking at a post-match interview, Strand mentioned that his side’s outing gives him hope of survival beyond the season.
“A point away is not bad looking at the fact that we didn’t have the full complement of the playing body,” he said.
”We will go back and work more and sharpen the rough edges in the team to make sure that we start winning. The situation is not that bad and looking at our performance against Liberty, I think we will survive this season.”
