Fire has razed a house belonging to Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder of the International God’s Way Church.
The house, located at Kenyasi in the Ashanti Region, has been destroyed by the inferno, which started around 8pm on Tuesday July 19.
Sources indicate that there was blackout in the area and the fire started soon after power was restored by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Media aide to the pastor Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya, who issued a press statement shortly after the incident, indicated: “We have received information that one of the houses that belongs to the International God’s Way Church has been razed by fire.”
The statement, however, stressed that the church building had not been affected and cautioned the media from peddling falsehood.
“We can confirm that, it is true but there is a diabolic story being published by some media houses that the church building of IGWC is burnt down. We want to state categorically that, it is only a building close to the church that suffered this unfortunate incident. The building is occupied by some church workers and some kindred of the general overseer of the church. We want to caution all media houses that will use this as a means to spread falsehood that we will not hesitate to take such media houses on.”
