The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has always held the view that aspects of its manifesto for the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections were copied by the All People’s Congress (APC), Yaw Boabeng Asamoah, NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Adentan, has said.
His comment follows claims by the dismissed General Secretary of the APC, Razak Poku, that the APC stole portions of the NPP’s manifesto.
Mr Opoku, who has fallen out with the founder of the APC, Hassan Ayariga, said on Monday November 28 that the APC was an “agenda-setting political party established to destroy another political party…” adding: “The APC’s manifesto is the NPP’s manifesto.”
Reacting to this revelation in an interview with Class 91.3FM’s Emefa Apawu on Monday, Mr Buaben Asamoah said: “I think Mr Razak Poku is in the best position to confirm that (copying of the NPP manifesto) because all along it’s been clear that there was some sort of plagiarism.
“We launched our manifesto, we believe it is an original manifesto, it is a manifesto of solutions that is going to run this economy the best way possible and that no action can detract from that fact, so if Mr Razak Poku says they stole our manifesto, Ghanaians are the best judges.”
