Uncrowned league champions, Ashgold, still revelling in their glory, will show no mercy to struggling Accra Great Olympics, who need a last breath in their last fixture against the miners at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Kudjoe Fianoo, the Ashgold CEO, told the Graphic Sports that his side were in pursuit of a convincing annexation of the league title and would just make that possible with a win over Oly.
“Our concern is not about whether Oly are relegated or not, but to win the league with massive points haul.
“We are determined to maintain the sanctity of the Premier League and will do just that on Sunday”, he stated.
Ahead of the game there are rumours that the miners would play it soft for Oly who badly need victory to survive.
But Fianoo insists; “We started the league with Oly and the rest of the participating teams, and do not owe any club a survival obligation”.
The Ashgold CEO disclosed that their achievement this season was the result of good planning with the signing of Coach Bashir Hayford which culminated in winning the Top 4 during the off-season.
“Even when our coach was taunted by critics who maintained that he was only a first round performer we maintained our focus to the surprise of his critics’, he noted.
