The National Labour Commission (NLC) has directed the striking Community Health Nurses to call off their strike with immediate effect and return to post at their various stations.
Over 13,000 nurses of the CHNAG declared a nationwide indefinite strike, earlier last week over concerns on their certificates.
They’re fighting for a change in their job description from nurse assistants – prevention to community Health nurses.
The Nurses earlier contended that their strike will continue unabated until officials address their grievances.
But a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the NLC, Charles Adongo Bawa Duah said the action of the Nurses is illegal and a breach of the Labour Act.
He further stressed the Community Health nurses failed to notify the commission on their intention to embark on the industrial action.
