Dr Edjah K. Nduom, son of Ghanaian politician Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has been appointed the first African American to chair the Young Neurosurgeons Committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr Nduom, who chaired his first meeting on Tuesday 25 April, said he was “excited about the challenge”.
In a Facebook post, the second son of the chairman of Groupe Nduom said: “Last night, I led my first meeting as Chair of the Young Neurosurgeons Committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In doing so, I have become the first African American Chair in the 26-year history of the committee. I have big shoes to fill in following my friend and colleague, Dr Krystal Tomei, in this role, but I am excited by the challenge. Let’s energise the next generation of neurosurgical leaders!”
Dr Nduom is a top neurosurgeon in the United States of America.
