The Nananom of Gomoa Nyanyano stool land in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region has announced a ban on noise-making in its jurisdiction, effective from 14th June 2024 to 12th July 2024.
The one-month ban on all forms of noise-making and drumming is intended to create a conducive atmosphere for the gods and is also part of the preparation for their annual festival.
Chief Priest of Gomoa Nyanyano, Nana Benyin Osofo, announced this at a press conference held at Nyanyano Palace on Friday, 7th June 2024.
Nana Benyin said that noise-making activities such as clapping of hands, outdoor events, engagements, church services, the use of instruments, playing music, drumming, funerals, and all other forms of noise-making are banned effective 14th June 2024. Offenders will be punished.
Some affected communities include Nyanyano, Millennium City, Dawano, Nyanyano Kakraba, Aki & Pawpaw, Allow Me, Jehovah, Dampase, and others.
He admonished the people living in the aforementioned communities to comply with the directives for peace to prevail.
