One of the victims of the alleged money doubling scam allegedly perpetuated by the Founder of Heaven Way Church in Accra, Patricia Asiedua formerly known as Nana Agradaa, has narrated that the evangelist played Shatta Wale’s ‘Kakai’ song after scamming them.
The victim, a female, who was captured in a video tape around the church premises, circulating on social media indicated that she came all the way from the Northern Region to seek blessings from Nana Agradaaa.
She stated that her decision to give out her money was as a result of an assurance that she was given to receive financial breakthrough in an advert that was done by Nana Agradaa on television.
“I came all the way from North because I wanted financial breakthrough. I saw her advert on television and decided to come. Now I don’t have any money on me therefore I have to walk back home.
“My brother here [pointing to another victim, male] also came from Cote D’Ivoire and has also lost his money,” she said.
She added “she was playing and singing Shata Wale’s song ‘I de come like Kakai’ to us.”
Meanwhile, the Police have arrested Nana Agradaa, following allegations of money doubling scam levelled against her by some members of the public.
She is currently assisting police investigation.
“Anyone who is a victim of the alleged money doubling scam should report to the Accra Regional Police Command for further action to assist the investigation,” the Police said in a statement on Sunday October 8.
The Police, in the early hours of Sunday October 8, announced that they have commenced an investigation into alleged money doubling scam allegedly perpetuated against some members of the Church by Nana Agradaa.
The investigation was initiated following reports that have come to the attention of the Police on the matter.
Scores of church members were captured in video that circulated on social media explaining how they were allegedly duped.
One of them indicated that about 5000 church members were victims of the action.
In a statement issued on Sunday October 9, the Police said “While investigation continues, we urge everyone, especially those who might have been affected to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands.
“We would like to urge anyone with information that can assist the investigation to report to the Accra Regional Police Command at Accra Central close to the COCOBOD building.”
