Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has said her husband will be an excellent president given his graceful acceptance of the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 2012 election petition.
After the apex court had given its judgement in 2013 in the petition which challenged the outcome of the poll that made John Mahama president, Nana Addo had said: “I accept that what the court says brings finality to the election dispute. We shall not be asking for a review of the verdict so we can all move on in the interest of our nation. Everything in my bones, in my upbringing, and what I have done with my life thus far makes it imperative that I accept a decision made by the highest court of the land, however much I dislike or disagree with it…”
These words made by the three-time flag bearer of the NPP convince Mrs Akufo-Addo that her husband will be an excellent president of Ghana if elected in this year’s elections. She, therefore, urged all Ghanaians to vote massively for him to win the presidential polls.
She tweeted: “@NAkufoAddo said this when the SCOG ruled against him. He is a true democrat and will make an excellent President.”
