President John Mahama has said his government is already putting up factories across the country.
In a veiled response to the ‘1-district, 1-factory’ policy of his main contender in the December 7 polls, Mr Mahama said there were gari processing plants, shoe factories, and metal fabrication factories among others springing up in every part of the country.
Speaking at the NDC’s campaign launch in Cape Coast in the Central Region, Mr Mahama said his government, perhaps, can “best be applauded” for its achievements in the socio-economic sector.
He said the government had provided clean water, expanded and stabilised the energy sector, expanded access to education, rehabilitated roads and increased access to healthcare. “We’ve put the worst of the power crisis behind us…we’ve balanced supply against demand…we’ve done a lot but a lot more remain to be done…” he said.
He said his government’s massive investment in socio-economic infrastructure of the country was part of the means of putting money in the pockets of Ghanaians.
“In the four years of my stewardship, Ghana has earned respect in the international arena,” Mr Mahama added.
