The Chief Executive Officer of Muslim Executives Foundation, Dr Sheikh Osman Orlando, has said the leadership of the Muslim communities are working assiduously to change the perception of Muslims as violent people.
Speaking at the annual seminar of Muslim Executives Foundation held in Kumasi on Sunday, 28 January, 2018, he said transforming the lives of Muslims to change the perception has been their vision and they will do their best to achieve it.
“That perception is there, but we are trying as much as we can to change that perception,” he said.
“Majority think that Muslims are famous for violence but we want to show Ghanaians and the world that Muslims of yesterday are not the same Muslims of today, so, we are going to transform our lives”, Sheikh Osman speaking on the theme: ” transforming lives through Islam,” stated.
He noted that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has prioritised the Muslim communities in its flagship policies which seeks to transform the Muslim communities and will also do their best to make sure that the transformation agenda is achieved by contributing their quota.
“The vice president is a Muslim and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government have shown they are concerned about Muslims…”
He said initiatives by the NPP government on Muslims suggest that Muslims have a say in the country and there is the need for them to transform their lives.
He commended government for creating the Zongo Development Fund and expressed hope that it will help to develop the Zongo communities.
