Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari would have a scan on Monday to assess the extent of his injury after he was forced off the field of play while playing for Al-Ittihad Jeddah on Saturday evening.
The former AC Milan, 30, was forced off the pitch just 18 minutes into Ittihad’s 2-1 home reverse against Al-Faisaly at the Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium.
Muntari had been booked in the 10th minute and left the game with his side down by a goal and his absence seemingly affected their performance as they slipped to a home loss.
Ittihad medical specialists are expected to perform a scan on the former Sunderland midfielder to assess the extent of damage done to him.
He has played twice for Ittihad since arriving at the club on a free transfer from AC Milan.
