Mobile telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has launched Season Three of its Heroes of Change project.
The launch was done in Accra on Wednesday August 31.
Speaking to Class FM after the launch, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Mrs Cynthia Lumor, said: “The MTN Heroes of Change, which we have done two seasons already and we just launched Season Three, is to recognise people in communities who in their own accord are using their energies and resources to give back [to society] and are making big impacts.”
“We (MTN Ghana) hope that by recognising them we encourage them to do even more, but perhaps more importantly to encourage other Ghanaians to learn from their good examples and also give back to their communities.”
Touching on the selection criteria, Mrs Lumor stated: “The judges will tell you it’s always excruciating because when you get the nominations, you go out and verify the projects and then come back to shortlist one to 10 and then to the winners of the categories and then the ultimate winner.”
The theme for this year’s edition is: ‘Who is your hero?’
