Member of Parliament for Nantong is accusing unnamed NDC Members of Parliament of greasing the palms of chiefs and opinion leaders in the Northern Region with “filthy, ill-gotten money.”
Murtala Mohammed is incensed over what he says are attempts by the MPs to unseat him and has dared them MP to do their worse.
He would not mention the names of the MPs in question but his public utterances against them on a Tamale radio have been anything but temperate.
The outburst by the MP has set the party on the edge with officials fearing it could have dire repercussion on the security of the people in Tamale.
Murtala Mohammed does not understand why members of his own party would scheme to have him ousted from Parliament.
He has threatened to expose these MPs and has warned chiefs and other opinion leaders to stay away if he goes on the counter.
“When I begin to speak out, let no hypocrite stop me…It is pathetic, absolutely pathetic: is unethical, is so funny, is so stupid, is so silly, is nasty, is un-Islamic for people the same party to be sitting down and their intention is about how they can get someone out of Parliament.”
“…They should not underestimate the consequences of my actions. And no one; no Malam or chief should dare call me when i begin to speak out.
“People are so subsumed that people come and give them filthy money, ill-gotten money and they will shut up. Because they give them money.
“I am not corrupt. I have said it time and again,” he warned adding he has nothing to lose if he decides to go on the rampage.
The NDC Regional Secretary Ralph Khalid says the Party is worried about the effusions of the deputy minister.
He said they will refer the matter to the conflict resolution committee of the party for resolution.
