The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South, Fritz Baffour, has showered praises on Accra Great Olympics for their promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
The former Information Minister, who could not hide his excitement, took to his Facebook wall on Friday, October 14, and stated: “I was at the GNFS Training School sports grounds to watch the final match of Accra Great Olympics, which we won and were crowned champions of our lower league zone and promoted to the premier division. Congrats to all who worked so hard to get us there – the players, coaches, management, and the very loyal supporters of our magnificent club.”
The Accra-based side will be returning to the Premier League a season after being relegated, having secured promotion from Zone 3 of the GN Bank Division One League.
The head coach of Great Olympics, Godwin Attram, had earlier applauded his team in an interview with Class Sports for their achievements as they return to Ghana’s elite football division.
“I feel so great and I thank God for that. It has not been easy but all the same the campaign is about to end and the boys are so happy. I give them most of the credit because they have done so well. Even though I am the head and I give most of the motivation and coaching, they have done well in my perspective,” he noted.
