Class Media Group, parent company of Accra100.5FM and Class91.3FM in Accra, and of Kumasi 104.1FM and Adeyhe99.1FM in the Ashanti Region, rewarded new mothers who gave birth on Sunday May 14, in commemoration of Mother’s Day 2017.
The company showed love to a total of 18 mothers at the Mamobi General Hospital, not far from Roman Ridge where CMG broadcasts in Accra.
The excited mothers received diapers, washing powder, toiletries, and other mother and child items worth tens of thousands of cedis.
The previous year, the company embarked on similar donations as part of its corporate social responsibility at seven hospitals in Accra but decided to focus this year on the Mamobi General Hospital.
CMG General Manager Nana Apeanti explained that mothers were worth celebrating and being shown love having endured the pain of “going through labour” in order to empower them – something the station sees as an aspect of its mandate
He said the annual gesture will be extended to many other hospitals and health facilities across the country in subsequent years as the company will never relent on its efforts to give back to society.
