Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and Kofi Portuphy, General Secretary and National Chairman, respectively, of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), have visited the three incarcerated Montie FM contemnors: Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako Gunn, and Salifu Maase (Mugabe) at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison.
There were several other members of the NDC including its Director of Elections, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who accompanied them to visit the three on Wednesday August 10.
On Wednesday July 27, the contemnors were jailed for contempt after scandalising the Supreme Court and bringing its name into disrepute. They pleaded guilty to the charges against them.
Some leading members of the NDC, including Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Dzifa Attivor, former Minister of Transport, have already visited the three, who are serving a four-month jail term.
