The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asunafo South district of the Brong Ahafo Region has called on all interested parties piling pressure on the president to appoint particular persons as District Chief Executives to put an end to the practice.
Spokesperson Charles Agyei Dickson, speaking in an interview with Accra News on Tuesday March 28, noted that some selfish individuals in the district were pushing their preferred candidates to be noticed by the president in the appointment, a situation he said was brewing tension in the NPP because there are other interest groups who also want their preferred candidates appointed.
For this reason, he has called for an end to such acts as a way of dealing with any potential conflict in the party.
He said: “Nana Addo Dankwa [Akufo-Addo] wants the best for Asunafo South and he knows the one who is best qualified to be the DCE for Asunafo South. He will give the district the best person as our DCE.
“And so let us stop stampeding the president and allow him to appoint someone who, in his wisdom, is best for Asuanfo South. Some people have got personal interests and they are pushing their own people for the position, but this is not healthy for the party and the district in general.
