A brother of late President John Evans Atta Mills has described him as someone who was ‘very healthy’ hence his family was shocked at his unexpected death.
Samuel Atta Mills speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Programme on Monday revealed that the late President always jogged two to three hours a day.
“The President was very very very healthy…this was a guy who could exercise for about two to three hours a day…,” he said.
The athletic nature of the former President, he said, made him and the family wonders at news that the President was an unhealthy person.
The President who was thought sick was pronounced dead in the afternoon of Tuesday, July 24th, 2015 at the 37 Military Hospital, where he was rushed that morning when he fell sick.
It has been claimed that his death was a result of his long period of ill health.
But Samuel Atta Mills who claimed he ‘was almost always’ by the President maintained that the late Law Professor was a very healthy man.
He further dismissed claims that President Mills was murdered adding that he would come to clarify issues at the right time.
“I was there beside him in his bedroom [on the day of his death]… at the right time, I would come to clear certain things…,” he said.
The man who claimed the President was taken to hospital in an ambulance and not in a boot of a car also said that he ‘would prefer to keep certain things to his grave…,.’
Asked if it was still necessary to find out what exactly killed President Mills, he responded that it was necessary to set up a commission to investigate his death.
Samuel Mills further disclosed that “he was there when an autopsy was been carried on President Mills.”
