The Mankessim Divisional Police Command has arrested eleven suspects in a swoop as part of moves to clamp down on criminal activities at the Mankessim Accra Lorry station and the Mankessim main market.
The exercise was led by ACP Owoahene Adjei Acheampong and assisted by DSP Augustine Mensah together with other police officers.
Edward Quansah, 38; Seglo Gaglo, 49; Albert Otoo, 42; Kwame Mensah, aged, 23; and Yusif Anning, 21, were arrested at a hideout. During a search on them, a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp were found on Kwame Mensah.
Further operations near Obidan Basic School also led to the arrest of Meshack Arthur, 25; Bismark Arthur, 20; Abednego Arthur, 19; Francis Otoo aged, 20; and Adwoa Mona, 44.
Fourteen assorted mobile phones, one Atikop TV set, 3 video decks, one sound speaker and a Honda motorbike with registration number M-17-GR419 suspected to have been stolen, were also retrieved from them.
The suspects have been detained for screening.
