Two leading officials of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) have been suspended from the party, Kasapafmonline.com can confirm.
Chief scribe Nii Armah Akomfrah and the party’s National Youth organiser Ernesto Yeboah were suspended after a Central Committee meeting of the party Friday afternoon.
It is unclear what might have triggered the sanctions against the executives of the Nkrumahist party.
But there are speculations that the suspension is in connection with the strong stance of the two against the controversy over President Mahama’s Ford vehicle gift offered him by a Burkinabe contractor.
The two berated their flagbearer Ivor Greenstreet for suggesting that the president broke no law by accepting the gift and subsequently petitioned CHRAJ to probe the President for accepting a bribe.
