President John Dramani Mahama is expected to begin his “Accounting to the People” tour of the Ashanti region today.
The region is the seventh to be visited by the President since he began his tour in April this year.
Mr. Mahama is expected to use the opportunity to inspect developmental projects in the region and also interact with the people.
He’s billed to inspect road networks at Asokore Mampong, and a newly built market facility at Asawasi among others today.
Meanwhile the Ashanti Regional secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress, Raymond Tandoh said the NDC has picked information that some element within the opposition New Patriotic Party intends to disrupt the president’s tour in the region, but said the National Security is on its toes to ensure the atmosphere is calm for the President’s tour.
“Our records are that there is nothing like they’ve informed the Police. We have alerted the National security because the president is the first gentleman of the land.” he added
