The Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Mr Wallace Akondor, has been relieved of his position.
A source at the Office of the President told Graphic Online.
Mr John Vianney, Assistant Commissioner, Import and Export, at the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, has been appointed as the new head.
The source said the Office of the President had formally written to the Commissioner General of the GRA about the development.
Mr. Vianney who had served in various capacities at the Customs Division is said
to be an experienced and principled customs officer.
The source said the government was bent on ensuring that all loopholes in national revenue generation were sealed.
