President John Dramani Mahama has returned home following an official visit to the Élysée Palace in France, which began on April 7, 2026.
During his visit, he also co-chaired the 2026 One Health Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, where he highlighted the growing global health challenges and Africa’s role in advancing sustainable solutions.
His second day was spent in Paris, where he kick-started his day with a meeting with the President of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher.
Mr. Mahama later held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace on strengthening Ghana-France bilateral relations and exploring cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including health, education, trade, investment, and regional security.
His delegation included the Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, National Security Advisor Prosper Bani, Secretary to the President Dr Callistus Mahama, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide Joyce Mogtari, and Ghana’s Ambassador to France Mavis Frimpong.
