President John Dramani Mahama is set to resume his tour of the Greater Accra region today Tuesday June 21, as part of the ‘Accounting to the People Tour’.
Mr Mahama suspended his tour last week following the death of his mother Hajia Abiba Nnaba who has since been buried at Busunu in the Northern Region.
Before suspending his tour, he visited the first phase of the affordable housing project at Saglemi, near Prampram in the Greater Accra Region where he indicated: “Work is progressing speedily on the first phase, made up of 1,500 housing units. After my tour, I visited one of the completed and furnished 2-bedroom housing units.”
Today, he is expected to visit the Madina market to interact with traders and market women, and then proceed to pay a courtesy call on the Chief and Elders of Madina Muslim community.
He will also inspect ongoing works at the New Atomic District Hospital and the Ridge Hospital, as well as pay a courtesy call on the Amasaman Mantse. Later in the afternoon, President Mahama will inspect the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) terminal in Ofankor and then move to Osu and Ga Mashie, where he will inspect ongoing works at the Ridge Hospital.
