President John Mahama will lay his mother to rest on Friday June 17 at Busunu in the Northern Region.
Abiba Nnaba died in Accra on Tuesday June 14. The body will be airlifted to her hometown for the burial, which will take place in accordance with Islamic tradition.
The President and his family have received messages of consolation from high-profile personalities including former presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Kufuor, flagbearer of the opposition NPP Nana Akufo-Addo, founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, Speaker Edward Doe Adjaho, as well as MPs and a host of others.
