English Championship side Leicester City are considering a move for Sporting CP winger Fatawu Issahaku before the end of the summer transfer window.
Leicester are believed to have identified the youngster as one with the required qualities to lead their charge as they eye a return to the Premier League league following their demotion at the end of last season.
Issahaku in the past few weeks has also caught the attention of Crystal Palace who saw their €8m bid reportedly rejected for the former Dreams FC player.
However, Leicester City are eying a loan move for Issahaku to complement their attack in the ongoing season according to Portuguese media.
The 19-year-old is not in Sporting’s plans for this season as he was excluded from the pre-season squad to deal with negotiations in the ongoing transfer window.
Issahaku has had a torrid time with the Portuguese side struggling with playing time and spending most of his time with the reserves and youth teams.
He is therefore aiming to find his feat elsewhere as his promising potential remains unfulfilled.
Issahaku shone for Ghana in the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) helping the the Black Satellites win the trophy while claiming the Best Player of the competition. He was also named in the tournament’s best eleven.
The former Steadfast FC player has also been an essential player for the Bak Metoers as he scored both goals to propel Ghana to a 2-1 aggregate win in the final round of qualifiers for the U-23 AFCON against Algeria.
