Two armed robbers have shot and killed a police officer while injuring another civilian as they attempted to escape with their booty on Thursday July 13 during a heist at La Paz in Accra.
The two robbers in a saloon car were spotted by a police officer close to the GT Bank area as they made their way to Mallam via the N1 Highway.
Accra FM’s Jedidiah Anarfi reported that the cop fired three warning shots but the robbers shot back realising he had ran out of bullets, killing him in the process. One civilian sustained gunshot injuries in the process.
Residents in the area called police officers who managed to intercept and arrest the robbers before they got to the end of the N1 Highway at Mallam.
