Kumawood Actor, Kwaku Manu has been arrested by the Ejisu-Juaben Police in the Ashanti region.
He was arrested on Thursday 26 April 2018 at the Ejisu market. The actor, together with other personalities, embarked on a public campaign at the market to promote his new product called Drop Fruit drink.
Police were said to have approached and questioned them about the noise they were making and asked for their permit which they provided.
One of the actors who was part of the event, Nana Agyemang popularly called Kyenkyina Twan who narrated the incident to Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah said the police officer returned and asked them to park their Kia truck with registration number AS 9359 -13 properly since according to the policeman they had parked on the wrong side of the road.
Nana Agyemang said Kwaku Manu is reported to have replied asking “what should we do again?” since in his view they had parked far from the road.
Kwaku Manu was then asked to follow the police officer to the police station after which he was arrested and put in police cell.
Nana Agyemang further accused police personnel on duty of assault against Kwaku Manu. He said the actor’s face got swollen with some bruises on his neck.
