Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Mahama, and other dignitaries were present at the burial service of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on Friday, June 9, 2017.
First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Second Lady Samira Bawumia, Ministers of State, leading members of political parties, top security officers, the clergy, media, family, and friends were all present to pay their last respects to the slain soldier.
Major Mahama was lynched by a group of people at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region who mistook him for an armed robber when a snail seller whom he bought snails from spotted a pistol on him while he reached for his pocket to pay her.
His death has widely been condemned and regenerated calls to fight instant justice in the country.
