Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested five suspected armed robbers, who will be paraded today, June 23.
The suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting and killing of a 42-year-old fuel dealer at Kotwi on Wednesday June 22.
They were picked up at their hideout upon a tip-off and intelligence gathered by law enforcers.
They were identified as Addai Kojo, 18; Moses Attuah, 19; Emmanuel Coffie, 22; and Sadat Mohammed alias ‘Survivor’. The identity of the fifth person is yet to be made public.
Coffie was identified by the wife of the deceased, as one of the attackers, who killed her husband, according to police officials.
Mr Anthony Drobo was attacked by the assailants while resting in his home around 2:45am on the said day. The attackers beat him up with sticks before shooting, after which they bolted with an unspecified amount of money.
Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Godwin Ahianyo, confirmed the arrest to Class News and indicated: “The Deputy Regional Commander will be briefing the media about the rest and we will be parading the suspects for the public to see them. They were all arrested at their hideout at a slum in Asafo.”
