Ghana Premier League club Asante Kotoko have been involved in a fatal motor accident with a member of the team feared dead.
The accident occurred around 9:45pm at Nkawkaw, when the bus carrying the team ran into a stationary vehicle.
The team was returning to Kumasi on Wednesday, 12 July 2017 after their 0-1 defeat to Inter Allies.
All the players and officials in the bus numbering about 35 have been sent to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.
Meanwhile, management of the club in a statement has urged all fans to remain calm.
“There are some unofficial reports saying there are some more serious casualties. But let’s wait for the official word. In the meantime, our thoughts are with family and friends affected by this,” the statement said.
