The Joe Ghartey Committee investigating the bribery scandal against the leadership of the Appointments Committee of parliament will present its report to the Speaker today, Wednesday 29 March.
Last week the committee received fresh evidence, delaying the committee’s work which began on Wednesday February 15.
The ad hoc committee was set up to probe the bribery claim against the chairman of the Appointments Committee, Joe Osei-Owusu.
Bawku Central MP and member of the Appointments Committee, Mahama Ayariga, in January alleged Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko attempted to bribe the Minority members on the committee with GHS3000 each to endorse his nomination after his vetting.
According to him, the Energy Minister used Mr Osei- Owusu as a conduit to bribe them. Mr Osei-Owusu is alleged to have given the monies to the Minority on the committee through Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak.
However, Mr Mubarak and Mr Osei-Owusu have denied the allegation.
