The Private Enterprises Federation (PEF) has announced plans to form District Business Councils across the country.
The Councils are expected to engage district assemblies to identify business opportunities in their localities.
According to the Chief Executive of PEF, Nana Osei Bonsu, the federation is hoping to unearth opportunities which otherwise would have gone unnoticed, for investments.
He said PEF would establish ventures through public-private partnership arrangements with the assemblies not only for income generation but also to help offer employment to the teeming unemployed youth.
He told Class Business that the initiative would be effective when “decentralised depending on the leadership in that community”, adding that the assembly can then engage the businesses through partnerships for a successful programme.
