Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kudalor has expressed confidence in his successor David Asante Apeatu.
According to him, the acting IGP has the requisite competence to superintend the Ghana Police Service.
The outgone IGP, however, appealed to the government to equip the police service with adequate logistics to facilitate their operations.
Speaking at the change of command parade and pulling out ceremony in Accra on Friday February 3, Mr Kudalor tasked the service to continue to build upon his achievement by maintaining peace and tranquillity.
“To the best of my ability, I have handed over the baton as the rules dictate. I’m very confident that my [successor], Mr David Apeatu, is well placed to run his duties very well. To God be the glory. The old order has given way to the new …change is necessary and divine, therefore, let us all embrace this change with our hearts, body, and soul and ensure that it pays positively,” he stated.
“I entreat the government to continue to allocate to the service the necessary equipment and logistics to enable the service perform effectively and efficiently thus to live up to its expectation.”
