The vice-presidential nominee of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah, has said he has so many SUVs.
The 73-year-old retired diplomat told Moro Awudu on Class91.3FM’s Inside Politics programme on Monday, 3 October that he is a proud owner of a Lincoln Navigator, three Rextons and one Land Cruiser.
Asked by Moro Awudu if he was willing to give out some of his cars to the party for its campaigns ahead of the 7 December polls, the honorary traditional leader retorted: “Why should I give out my vehicles to my party.”
“If I’m asked to do a job, fine I will do that but to give my party cars? How many people just go and say: ‘I belong to a party, so, here are vehicles?’ Sometimes we don’t need vehicles. That’s why I told you we could have a bus,” the former Ambassador to South Korea said.
Nana Nketiah added: “It is not my generosity that will make the party win, it is the message I’m going to carry out to the people. … Elections are not won with many cars. … What I’ll do is get one of these VIP buses, paint it like the way they do it… [and use it for our campaigns]. We may not use even more than one KIA bus that can carry about 50 people.”
Pressed further by Moro Awudu if that meant he would not make his vehicles available for use by the party, the retired military officer said: “I haven’t said so.”
