Inflation for the month of September rose to 17.2% from August’s 16.9%.
Also, inflation for imported goods shot up to 18.7% for September from August’s 17.3%.
The inflation rate for goods produced locally, however, tumbled marginally to 16.6% from August’s 16.7%.
The year-on-year rate for the food and non-alcohol beverages group is 9.0% while the non-food group recorded a year-on-year rate of 21.6 %, a 0.1% rise in August’s.
The Greater Accra Region recorded the highest inflation rate of 20.8% followed by the Ashanti Region (18.1%). The Central Region recorded the lowest rate of 13.8%.
