Presidential aide and aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ningo Prampram constituency, Sam George will not engage in a media war with incumbent MP, Enoch Tei Mensah despite the latter’s attacks on him.
E.T. Mensah who is one of Ghana’s longest serving MPs, earlier described Sam George as “naive and power drunk” after he submitted his nomination forms to contest him in the NDC parliamentary primaries on November 7.
According to him, he was disappointed by some comments made by Sam George, a man he once groomed and helped in life.
“God should have mercy upon this boy. A hand that has fed you before, if you want to bite it you have to be careful. A hand that has raised you to where you are and you feel that you can mess around. I am not sad for him but his parents; I didn’t know them from Adam. When his sister was going to be engaged by the husband in Nigeria, I supported them and I treated him like a son” he said.
Speaking in an interview with citifmonline.com, the presidential aide said he will not respond to E.T Mensah’s attacks on him and his family.
“I won’t engage in a media war with him. The contest is on the ground and the
most important thing is that I am working very hard on the ground. I know God will fight my battles for me.”
“I have apologised to my father on ET Mensah’s behalf. I have apologised to him that because of my political career he has been insulted by Hon. ET Mensah,” he further stated.
ET Mensah has been in Ghana’s Parliament since 1996.
