Former rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, (GIMPA), Professor Stephen Adei has denied referring to President John Dramani Mahama as an “incompetent” leader and a “liar”.
It is reported on social media that Prof Adei has taken a swipe at the president saying “you live in a country where the president is lying, ministers are lying. How can a head of state stand in front of a country in this state of affairs and say that the economy is good? It is not good, things are hard. Ghanaians must be told the truth if we want to have a good country”.
But in a statement, Professor Adei said the above statement attributed to him is “malicious” and a false statement put out there without his consent, involvement or prior knowledge.
He urged Ghanaians to treat the statement with the contempt it deserved and described the act as irresponsible.
Professor Adei, however, rendered an apology to President Mahama for any harm the publication might have caused him.
