Popular Ga rapper Gasmilla has reacted to claims that he has never won an award in his more than five years career in Ghana’s mainstream music industry, saying, “ I am not in a haste” to win an award.
The man who is called King of Azonto is one of Ghana’s talents who are widely known for their rap style.
He is one of the artistes who never get recognised by award schemes though they remain the favourites of Ghanaian music fans.
He made impact with songs such as 3 Points, Aboo Daa Twoi, B3 Ole, Painkilla and Telemo, among others, but never won an award.
Hours to the 2015 edition of the Ghana Music Awards on Saturday, he told Hitz Fm, an Accra-based radio station, that “…I will keep coming back regardless. I mean, a time is coming that they won’t have a choice but give all to me; and charlie, I will be at the receiving end. I am not in haste. If you think these are bangers, wait for what I’m bringing. I believe that I am working hard and I am going to be working harder with the support of my buddy buddies [sic].”
