PPP flag bearer Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has said while one of his contenders in the December 7 presidential race, Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP, is promising one dam per farming village in northern Ghana as well as a factory in each of the 216 districts, he has already established a bank in every district of the country.
Addressing supporters at Abura in the Central Region on Tuesday, Dr Nduom urged the electorate to choose a presidential nominee who has a track record as a doer rather than those who are on a promising spree.
Dr Nduom said unlike the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo and the governing NDC’s John Mahama, he will not make any of those promises because his achievements already bear him out.
According to the Chairman of Groupe Nduom, each of the 216 districts has a branch of GN Bank and so “we are telling you what we have done, they are only making promises.”
Apart from GN Bank, Groupe Nduom also owns Coconut Grove Hotels, ISF Bank, Ghana Growth Fund Company, Qualtek, First Digital TV, Yorke Properties, International Business Solutions, Sterlin Management Services, Ghana Media Group, GN Investments, PenTrust, LEDFC, EPPL, GN Quarry and Concrete Products, Fresh Pak, Sterlin Protective Services, Today News, Ocean1tv, GN Reinsurance, Digicut, GN Logistics, GN Life, ATV, BTA, GN Account and GN Fellows, among others.
According to Dr Nduom, the PPP were masters of job creation, adding: “We have started”. Apart from creating jobs, Dr Nduom said a future government under his leadership would do away with malaria as well as ensure that district, municipal, and metropolitan chief executives are elected rather than appointed.
