A galamseyer from Obuasi whose name for a reason was given as Abu Seidu has revealed that most of the missing babies from the various hospitals are mostly sold to galamseyers for rituals.
Speaking on Angel Morning Show with Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, Abu Seidu said the galamseyers have been buying fresh babies from various hospitals to be killed on the galamsey sites to perform rituals so that they can get more gold from the land.
He added that, “when the babies are killed, we pour their bloods on the land and hang the babies on the concession”.
He further explained that he pities those saying they should allow galamseyers to operate because he thinks they do not know what goes into the galamsey work.
Abu Seidu told Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah that these issues have been going on over years, they take the fresh babies down into the underground of the galamsey pit, kill them and split their blood on the land to call for more gold.
“You can give birth and they will tell you that you have lost your newly born baby, someone has used the baby for rituals at Galamsey concession.”
“They buy newly born babies from the hospitals for rituals, used white cloth to cover them and bury them”.
“When they buy the children, when you get to the underground they kill them, split the blood on the concession and hang the babies for more gold”
Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah on the morning show spoke to some residents from Obuasi and they confirmed it to him that, killings have been going on at Obuasi for so many years especially on the numerous galamsey sites but then again they are scared to talk about it since their lives might be at risk.
