The metropolitan chief executive (MCE) of Accra, Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, and the minister of youth and sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, have jointly donated food items and drinks to the Lante Dzan We of Ga Mashie in Accra towards the upcoming Homowo festival.
The food items presented included two cartons of schnapps, two cartons of Castle Bridge Gin, four crates of Guinness, six crates of beer, six crates of assorted drinks, 10 boxes of mineral water, six bags of maize, four gallons of palm oil, and an amount of GHS2000.
Briefing the media, Mr Vanderpuije stated that the items were to support the Ga family during the Homowo festival and also to minimise their expenses.
On his part, Nii Lante Otanka II, the Lante Dzan We chief, expressed appreciation to the government and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) for the donation while appealing for a peaceful election.
