Black Stars coach Avram Grant has expressed confidence in his team ahead of their international friendly with Russia on Tuesday September 6, despite admitting that players of the senior national team have not had enough preparation for the game.
The Black Stars travelled to Russia after a disappointing performance against Rwanda in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers on Saturday.
“We played a game on Saturday and had to come to Russia right afterwards. We did not have enough time to train but I am confident my boys will play a good game,” Grant told the Russian media.
“The Russia team is new because only seven of the players that played the Euros are still with the squad. They have a new coach and have played only one game so far under him. I watched that game against Turkey and I know they have a good team.”
The friendly is part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda next month.
