Like the rest of the world, the ‘Garden City’ of Kumasi anxiously awaits the festive Christmas season with all the socio-economic activities that come with it.
It promises to be an exciting and memorable moment for businesses and celebrants in the region and all other people who will find themselves within the jurisdiction during the period.
The reason is simple and perhaps, a surprise: a key feature of Christmas and New Year in Kumasi — trade fair — bounces back after a five-year lull.
Dubbed, “GRAND SALES 2015”, the event is being spearheaded by event management firm, Asphil International Ghana, in collaboration with Multimedia Group, Kumasi – Luv 99.5FM and Nhyira 104.5FM.
Ten days of one-stop shopping and entertainment package for residents of Kumasi and other parts of Ashanti, as businesses and institutions have opportunity to showcase and market their products and services.
The Baba Yara Stadium will be venue for variety of activities galore; from musical performance, kids’ party, live telecast of EPL matches, free legal consultation and marriage counseling from 18th to 28th December.
A special session, christened Lovers’ Corner, strictly reserved for couples will give partners a never-to-be-forgotten experience they hardly have tasted before.
Beyond the matchless excitement, organizers are hoping to revive trading and investment in Kumasi as the commercial capital of Ghana and West Africa.
Asphil International spokesperson, Habiba Nyarko Fosu-Poku, tells Luv News the event seeks, especially, to promote and project less known industries in the Ashanti Region.
“We want to revive trade and commerce in Ashanti Region by bringing both traders and customers together. Our purpose is to help less-popular industries realize their full potential. We hope to make it a yearly event again and proceeds from the event would go to support brilliant but needy students via the Otumfuo Charity Foundation,” Mrs. Fosu-Poku explained.
For ten days running from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight, the Heroes Park of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be kept boiling with serious business amid fun and excitement.
Prospective exhibitors will do themselves a lot of good if they book a place before it is too late.
So save the date and some money for the upcoming “Grand Sales 2015”.
